The gentle cleaners made at home are always better for both you and yoour family. Most general cleaners found today give off harsh fumes that sting the eyes and some even damage the surface of the bath. These home made cleaners I I have below work very well and are kinder to you hands and eyes as you use them.
First we shall clean the Toilet Bowl: The worst is always the best one to tackle first! So here goes.
Take a 1/4 cup of Baking Soda and sprinkle it into the toilet bowl. Follow this with a spray of white vinegar (kept in a spray bottle) Allow the mixture to develop for a while say two to three minutes , and using the loo brush brush the whole inside of the basin , then flush.
Now that was inexpensive and easy wasn't it? Ok so now the general cleaner for the rest of the room and the shower. This particular cleaner is great for cleaning out the holes in the shower head and those hard to get at rims around the taps. It also makes the tiles and porcelain shine. OK, Using two cups of water mixed with two cups of vinegar Shake these together well and keep in a bowl. Soak the shower head in the solution for a good few minutes to loosen deposits from hard water , or if this is the first time you are cleaning like this ,it may even take a few hours. Just leave the head in the bowl and get on with some other chore. Then come back and lightly scrub the shower head with a nylon brush and replace it. Use the same formula to wipe off the hand basin, bath and walls or shelves . The vinegar is a disinfectant and smells soon dissappear.
Should you ever need a stronger cleaning mix, you can happily use a mix of 1 cup borax with 1/4 cup of vinegar or lemon juice.
Finish the bathroom cleaning by polishing all the chrome work with a soft cloth. Placing a bowl of potpourri or a small ceramic bowl of vanilla extract will keep the room smelling very nice .
Have a cup of tea and put your feet up for the rest of the day.
